Melissa Telemaque-Hazel

Hi, I’m Melissa, a proud Edinburgh Napier University alumnus and dedicated healthcare professional who is all about compassion, community, and making a difference.

I graduated with distinction from ENU’s Global Online BSc Nursing Studies programme in October 2025, an achievement that still fills me with gratitude and pride.

I grew up in Dominica, the Nature Isle of the Caribbean, surrounded by rainforests, waterfalls, and a strong culture grounded in resilience that shaped who I am today. These days, I am lucky to call both Bermuda and Antigua home as well. Each island has played a special role in my journey.

I started out in nursing, where I found my passion for caring, advocating, and leading. That passion eventually led me to ENU, where the Global Online programme allowed me to grow academically while balancing life, work, and family across the ocean. The experience transformed me not only through the knowledge I gained but also through the connections, encouragement, and sense of belonging I found along the way.

I continue to build on that foundation by pursuing a Master’s in International Public Health with Liverpool John Moores University through UNICAF, diving deeper into global health and equity.

As Bermuda’s Alumni Champion, I enjoy bringing people together and helping others feel connected. At heart, I am guided by faith, family, and a drive to uplift others wherever I can.
