The system of vehicle taxation has been identified as a crucial element in the transport policy agenda, particularly in facilitating the transition towards lower emission vehicles. The research seeks to add insight into the psychology behind the purchase of a vehicle and how taxation can shape the purchasing decision through the use of a questionnaire survey and (provisional) focus group analysis.
